Basic Edit vs Editorial Edit

Thought I would create a blog post outlining the differences between a Basic Edit and an Editorial Edit

A Basic Edit includes the following:

  • light blemish removal

  • lightening under the eyes

  • light skin softening using Portraiture

    • this skin smoothing basically blurs the pixels to create smooth skin

  • retoucher spends about 1-2 mins per image

An Editorial Edit includes the following:

  • blemish/acne removal

  • lightening under the eyes using dodging/burning

    • no pixel blurring

  • skin smoothing using separation frequency instead of Portraiture

    • no pixel blurring

  • fly away hairs

  • dodging/burning to create most beautiful image possible

    • shadows in shirts

    • odd shadow on face

    • etc

  • liquify if needed

    • shape face/waist/bulky clothing

  • retoucher spends 30-60 mins per image

Which do I suggest?
I suggest to pay the extra for an Editorial Edit for any image that will be used to market yourself in a professional way.

What is the difference in cost?
An Editorial Edit costs $20 per image while the Basic Edit is $3 per image. If you have more then light blemishes, there is an additional Acne Edit fee of $2 per image on the Basic Edit.
